And now, a minute with the Word…

Hebrews 2.3 describes the Gospel of Christ as “so great a salvation,” and in 1 Peter 1, the apostle writes of at least four things that make it so great. First, it offers “a living hope” of a pure and eternal heavenly inheritance (verses 3-5). Second, it is an ancient message, “things which angels desire to look into,” but reserved for our benefit on this side of Jesus’ cross (verses 10-12). Third, it is a salvation purchased at the highest possible price, “the precious blood of Christ” (verses 18-20). And fourth, we are born again “through the word of God which lives and abides forever” (verses 23-25). Indeed, “how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation”?
