And now, a minute with the Word…

James 4.8 exhorts, “Resist the devil,” but how?

1. Know that he is real, despite how he might deceive (2 Corinthians 11.14).
2. Beware of his tactics (1 John 2.16).
3. Meditate upon God’s word (Psalm 119.9-11).
4. Look for the way of escape (1 Corinthians 10.13).
5. Pray for wisdom (James 1.2-5).
6. Think on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report (Philippians 4.8).
7. Associate with God’s people (Proverbs 27.17; Hebrews 10.25).
8. Never be too proud to ask for help (Proverbs 16.18).
9. Remember you are not alone (Hebrews 13.5-6).
10. “Abstain from every form of evil” (1 Thessalonians 5.22)

“Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4.8-9)
