And now, a minute with the Word…

When “Jacob left Beersheba,” from his homeland and family, “and went toward Haran” (Genesis 28.10),  God assured Jacob of His presence and confirmed the Abrahamic promises to him in a dream: “a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it” (verse 12). When “the Word [John 1.1-3] became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1.14), leaving His home and Father, Jesus assured His followers of God’s presence with Him and the promises to be fulfilled by Him, saying “you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man” (John 1.51).
