And now, a minute with the Word…

In chapter 1, Daniel and his friends, made up their minds as young men to not defile themselves with king Nebuchadnezzar’s food and wine. As a result, God was pleased and “gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.” (verse 17) When their training was over, the king found them to be far superior to the other students. “And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better” (verse 20) than all the wise men of his kingdom. Daniel and his friends are remembered among the great Bible characters because of their faith and reliance upon God.
