Week 49, Day 2 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
God’s people are no strangers to opposition. Throughout history, those who have sought to do God’s will have been opposed by others. Going all the way back to the garden of Eden, we see the source of that opposition to the will of God. It comes from Satan. He is our greatest adversary, and he is walking around like a roaring lion, searching for anyone to devour (1 Peter 5.8). Jesus describes him as the “father or lies” (John 8.44). When we face opposition in our lives, what do we do? Do we give in to whatever it is we are facing? Do we try and avoid the opposition in any way shape or form? Do we confront that opposition head on and seek comfort and strength from our God? Let us seek to draw near to God when we face opposition and put our faith and our trust in Him, our help and our deliverer.
Psalm 46.1 — “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (ESV)
