Week 9, Day 2 — A minute with the Word

Series: 2025 Bible Reading

And now, a minute with the Word…

David begins this psalm by stating that he trusts God as his protector. In verse 2, he stated “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from You.” In verses 8-11, David’s prophecy of the Messiah is applied by Peter in Acts 2:25-32 to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Although most of the psalm is also applicable to David, verse 10 is specifically about the Jesus. “For You will not abandon My soul to Sheol, or let Your Holy One see corruption.” Peter points out that David died, was buried and his tomb was still with them. David’s body saw physical decay. “He foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that He was not abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.” (Acts 2:31)
