Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
This psalm of David is a song of praise and thanksgiving to God for deliverance from his enemies, including King Saul. He begins by expressing his love for God, describing Him as his strength, rock, fortress, deliverer, and shield. David recalls when in distress, he cried out to God and God rescued him, responding powerfully against his enemies. David acknowledges God’s faithfulness, righteousness, and justice, praising Him for making him victorious. “The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation – the God who gave me vengeance and subdued peoples under me, who rescued me from my enemies; yes, You exalted me above those who rose against me; You delivered me from the man of violence. For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations, and sing to Your name. Great salvation He brings to His anointed, to David and his offspring forever.” (verses 46-50)
