Week 9, Day 5 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
This psalm praises God for His glory revealed in creation and through His Word. It opens by declaring how the heavens and sky proclaim His handiwork, their beauty and order serving as a constant reminder of His power and wisdom, even without words. The second part of the psalm is focused on God’s Word. In verses 7-8, he wrote “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” The psalmist highlights the ability of God’s Word to revive the soul, impart wisdom, bring joy and clarity. It also serves as a guide for living righteously. In verses 10-11, “More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.”
