Week 11, Day 5 — Psalm 29
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
If we would “Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name” (Psalm 29.2a) — the glory due, as evidenced by His powerful voice in the proceeding verses — then we must “worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness” (verse 29b), “in holy array” (NASB95), “in holy attire” (NASB20), or “in the beauty of holiness” (N/KJV). In other words, not everything that claims to glorify, praise, honor, serve, or worship God truly rises to the occasion; only holiness — entirely set apart from the world, its standards, and our selfish interests — can accomplish that. “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy’” (1 Peter 1.14-16).
