Week 12, Day 2 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
This psalm expresses deep trust and reliance on God for protection and deliverance, putting his life and spirit fully into God’s hands. In verse 5, David stated “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God.” In Luke 23:46, Jesus directly quoted the psalmist in His final moments on the cross, signifying the depth of His reliance on God. “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” David concluded in verses 23-24, “Love the Lord, all you His saints! The Lord preserves the faithful… Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!” Similarly, Jesus stated “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.” (John 10:27-30)
