And now, a minute with the Word…

David expresses the immense joy and relief that comes from confessing one’s sins to God and receiving forgiveness. “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” (verse 1) The psalmist emphasizes the importance of openness and honesty with God to find true happiness and be cleansed of guilt. David concluded in verses 10-11, “Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!” Similarly, Paul penned in Romans 5:11 “More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”
