Week 12, Day 5 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
This psalm of David expresses thanksgiving and praise after he was delivered from King Abimelech. It begins with his declaration of commitment to always praise and magnify God, “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together!” (verses 1-3) In verse 20, David prophesied “He keeps all His bones; not one of them is broken.” This is quoted in John 19:36, “For these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken.” When Pilate sent soldiers to break the legs of those crucified that day, Jesus was already dead; therefore, the soldiers did not have to break his legs. Thus fulfilling the prophecy.
