And now, a minute with the word…

Job 1.20 — “Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshipped.“ (ESV)

Have we ever experienced a trial of some sort and asked “Why is this happening to me?” If you’re like me, you have wondered that at some point. In the midst of great suffering, Job falls down and worships God. He had a perspective that many of us would do well to model. We need to remember that God is the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1.17). Satan will use trials and calamities in an attempt to chisel away at our faith. Satan’s ultimate goal is for me to forsake God. Is my faith strong enough to withstand the trials that Satan will bring my way? Is my faith the anchor that holds through the storms of life? Let us deepen our faith and grow closer to our God each and every day.
