And now, a minute with the word…

Job 4.17 — “Can mortal man be in the right before God? Can a man be pure before His Maker?” (ESV)

These are great questions to ask ourselves today! The answer to both of these questions is a resounding YES! Yes, we can be pure before our Maker, but not because of anything that we have done. Thanks be to God for His great love and mercy. He has made us alive in Christ (Ephesians 2.5) and we have been justified in the sight of God because of Jesus’ shed blood on the cross (Romans 5.9). If I have not taken hold of that precious gift, why am I delaying? The gift of God is freely given (Revelation 22.17); I need to take the step and come in contact with the blood of Jesus through the waters of baptism. Follow the example of the apostle Paul and quit delaying! (Acts 22.16)
