And now, a minute with the word…

While Eliphaz is coming from an angle where Job is guilty of some sin and this is the cause of his suffering, listen to the words of Job 5.8-9, 17.

Job 5.8-9 — “As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number.” (ESV)

Job 5.17 — “Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore, despise not the discipline of the Almighty.” (ESV)

Those words were true when they were spoken then and they are true now. We should commit our cause to God. Don’t reject the discipline of the Lord — God loves us and disciplines us for our own good (Hebrews 12.7-11).
