And now, a minute with the Word…

Job said, in 12.9-10, “Who among all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.” In the midst of incomparable anguish, there were a great many things that Job did not understand; but he did not allow his questions or confusion to undermine what he DID understand about God. Sometimes we might share Job’s uncertainty; but we must also learn to share his faith and that of the apostle Paul, who wrote, “I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day” (2 Timothy 1.12).
