Week 14, Day 3 — A minute with the Word

Series: 2025 Bible Reading

And now, a minute with the Word…

While falsely and baselessly charged with sin by these “miserable comforters” (16.2) — Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar — Job found this solace: “Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and he who testifies for me is on high” (16.19). Mortals might convict the guiltless and acquit the guilty, but God does not, and Job took comfort that his case did not finally rest in the hands of a flawed judiciary. While suffering the ultimate injustice, Jesus cried out from the cross, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” (Luke 23.46). Righteousness will not always be properly evaluated or acknowledged by men, so like Job and Jesus, we must learn to entrust ourselves only “to him who judges justly” (1 Peter 2.23).
