And now, a minute with the Word…

In Ephesians 2.10, Paul says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” The idea of a Christian being created specifically to do good works is not entirely unique to this letter. In Titus 2.14, Paul says “who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.” And again in Titus 3.8,14 the idea of Christians being devoted to good works is present. We need to be a people who are eager to do good works…spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, taking care of one another’s physical needs, being submissive to governing authorities. Christians are called to be people of action…so let’s be eager to jump in and do good works.
