Our Elders
The Bible teaches that every local church should be under the oversight of a group of elders. Elders are to lead the local congregation and are responsible for the spiritual growth of the members. They are to teach and exhort the church in sound doctrine and refute those who contradict the truth. Elders are selected by the local congregation on the basis of qualifications found in the scriptures, Titus 1:5-16 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7. Elders are also referred to in the scriptures as overseers, pastors, and shepherds.
The Church of Christ at Greenwood is blessed to be led by the following elders:
Ben Allen - Ben and his wife, Susie, have been married since 1976. They have been members of the Greenwood Church of Christ since 2007. Ben has served as an elder with Todd since 2016. Ben is retired from the United States Postal Service.
Todd Walker - Todd became a member of the Greenwood Church of Christ in 1992, shortly after marrying his wife Tammy. Todd began serving as an elder in 2016. He has been working in information technology for many years.
