And now, a minute with the Word…

With no slight toward Jesus intended, Peter proposed building “three tabernacles: one for [Jesus], one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” not realizing that his misguided zeal had diverted his focus from the One upon Whom it should be most fixed. How often are we similarly guilty? With no deliberate affront intended toward our Lord, we allow other things — our families, social engagements, recreational activities, educational pursuits, and work commitments — things that may very well be intrinsically good — to rob the attention and energy needed for the very highest and best things. We must be reminded, “This is [God’s] beloved Son. Hear Him!”
