And now, a minute with the Word…

The vineyard language of Mark 12 hearkens back to the Lord’s condemnation of Israel and Judah in Isaiah 5, where He asked rhetorically, “What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it?” There was nothing the Lord had not done, then or in Jesus’ day, short of violating their freewill, to stem the tide of their apostasy and forthcoming judgment. Further, there is nothing the Lord has not done, short of violating our freewill, to call us back to Himself and from the peril of judgment, because He “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2.4)
