Mark 16
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
The bodily resurrection of Jesus is fundamental to the Bible story. It testifies to the existence and power of God, for if Jesus was raised, only God could do it, and the resurrection confirms the deity of Jesus “with power” (Romans 1.4). It is an indispensable part of the gospel message, along with his life, death, and burial (1 Corinthians 15.1-4), and essential to our salvation and hope (1 Peter 1.3-5). By His resurrection, Jesus “has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15.20), assuring our own bodily resurrection to face the final judgment, God having “given assurance of this to all by raising [Jesus] from the dead” (Acts 17.30-31).
