And now, a minute with the Word…

Early in his letter to the church at Ephesus, Paul lists many of the spiritual blessings we have and they are all possible for us because of the sacrifice of Jesus. “In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses…”. When we stop and think about the price that was paid for you and for me to have these blessings, what sort of thoughts or emotions come to mind? Does the fact the sinless son of God died on the cross because of my sin cause me to change how I live on a day to day basis? I was purchased from my lost condition with the precious blood of Christ. I should no longer live for myself, but I should live for the one who died for me. As Paul also wrote to the church in Corinth — “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6.19-20).
