And now, a minute with the Word…

The prophecy of Jeremiah 31.31-34, quoted in Hebrews 8.8-12, highlights three key features of the new and better covenant inaugurated in Christ. First, this covenant is about inward transformation, regarding the mind and the heart, not merely external behavior modification. Second, this covenant is based upon knowledge; that is, knowing God and coming to Him on His terms. Third, this covenant offers the greatest blessing — absolute forgiveness — not provided in the perpetual sacrifices made under the Law of Moses, but secured in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
