And now, a minute with the Word…

Some Christians are like faucets — on again, off again. They are dramatically affected by persecution, distractions, indifference, doctrinal movements, influential brethren, and the like, vacillating wildly from zeal to apathy and back again. But Jesus’ sacrifice and service call us to greater commitment. “Let us draw [ever] near[er]” to God, “Let us hold fast” and firm our faith, “And let us consider” our fellow Christians, that we can help them and they can help us, through our assembling and beyond, in view of the coming judgment. Do not trample underfoot the Son of God, count the blood of the covenant a common thing, or insult the Spirit of grace (verse 29).
