And now, a minute with the Word…

Martha is perhaps the most relatable character in all of the New Testament, for most of us, like her, “are worried and troubled about many things.” On the other hand, Jesus commended her sister Mary, because she chose “that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” She chose the spiritual over the material; she chose the permanent over the passing; she chose the important over the merely urgent; and she chose the eternal over the earthly. Do our lives — individually, in our families, and in the local church — reflect these same priorities? Have we, like Mary, “chosen that good part, which will not be take away from [us]”?
