Acts 3
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
God’s three promises to Abram (later called Abraham) — nation, land, and seed — form the backbone of the Bible story, from their first appearance in Genesis 12 through the book of Revelation. While the nation promise was fulfilled during the days of Moses, about 600 years after Abraham, and the land promise was fulfilled within another 40 years during the days of Joshua, the seed promise was not fulfilled until the coming of Jesus, approximately 2000 years after the promise was first made. This chronology underscores two critical reminders: (1) “God is faithful” (1 Corinthians 1.9, et al), and (2) “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13.15).
