The blind beggar on the Jericho road to whom Jesus restored the power of sight “followed Him, glorifying God” (Luke 18.43a), and those whose eyes were opened by the things they saw “gave praise to God” (Luke 18.43b), but “an angel of the Lord struck [Herod], because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died” (Acts 12.23). “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13.15).
