And now, a minute with the Word…

The Ethiopian’s conversion story reminds us of FIVE fundamental Bible truths. First, Jesus fulfilled “the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms” (Luke 24.44). Second, preaching Jesus (Acts 8.35) includes His commands, like Mark 16.16, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” Third, belief in Jesus and obedience to Him are inseparable, because He is “the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” (Hebrew 5.9). Fourth, Bible baptism is immersion; notice Acts 8.38, “both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.” Fifth, rejoicing naturally follows obedience and the salvation it brings; the Ethiopian “went on his way rejoicing” (Acts 8.39).
