And now a minute with the word...

There is a lot of difficulty for the brethren in this chapter such as the great persecutions that were occurring. It is encouraging to see they were still able to be bold and confident in these circumstances. How were they able to be so bold? v 3 mentions they were speaking boldly in the Lord or speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord. They were not confident because of their talents or abilities. They were able to be bold because the power was from God and in His gospel message of Jesus Christ. Perhaps that is why we are not as evangelistic as we could be. We may rely on ourselves or think about ourselves too much, instead of simply letting the word of God work. Let us all be more bold in proclaiming the word of God!
