And now a minute with the word...

It is so encouraging to see the life that Paul lived. He took every circumstance and opportunity to tell about God and Christ. Whether he was a free man preaching in a synagogue or city, or whether he was bound up in prison, he would preach the gospel. In v 25, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns. Even in these circumstances, they continually rejoice in the Lord. It also mentions that the prisoners were listening. I can’t help but think that prison staff would have also been listening. And we see the keeper of the prison come in after the earthquake and ask what he needs to do to be saved. Paul and Silas tell him the gospel news. The man and his whole household believe and are baptized and then rejoice. We must consider: are we speaking the truth of the gospel? Are we letting others know the hope within us? Are we rejoicing in the Lord, even in difficult circumstances? Let us all grow in our relationship with God.
