Acts 18
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
In ancient times, Corinth was known as a thoroughly wicked city (see 1 Corinthians 6.9-11), so that “to Corinthianize” (literally to live as a Corinthian) was understood to mean an immoral and depraved lifestyle. Nonetheless, the Lord said to Paul, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city” (Acts 18.9-10). This reminds us of two important truths — (1) Satan’s assaults are no match for God’s guardianship, and (2) Prospects for the gospel can and do come from unexpected places.
