Acts 23
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
The apostle Paul stands in a long line of those who “lived in all good conscience before God” even though they had not yet become Christians. Consider the Jews from the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 and those from the following few chapters. Consider the Philippian jailer in Acts 16. These, among countless others, like Paul “thought [they] must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth” (Acts 26.9). They were, of course, gravely mistaken, and they stand as perpetual reminders that “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14.12).
