And now, a minute with the Word…

In what is most likely the last letter written by the apostle Paul, he is urging the young evangelist Timothy to be bold in his proclamation of the gospel. The Good News, as Paul says, was manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality (2 Timothy 1.10). This life and immortality (eternal life) is not something that we should shrink away from. Can we say, like Paul, that I know in whom I have believed? Can I say that through Jesus I know I have the gift of eternal life? “Anyone who does not love God does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” — 1 John 4.8-9 (ESV).
