2 Timothy 2
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Many through history have attempted to stamp out the Word of God. We see it in the pages of our New Testaments in places like Acts 4, 5, 8, and 19. We see it in other parts of the world today, and in the not so distant past, where it is against the law to either practice Christianity or even own a copy of the Bible. However, the words in 2 Timothy 2.9 still ring just as true today as they did 2,000 years ago — “…But the word of God is not bound!” (ESV)
Am I helping to spread the word of God to those around me, or am I trying to keep the Scriptures locked away and hidden from others? “The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful.” (2 Timothy 2.11-13). May we always draw encouragement in the fact that God’s word is indeed not bound!
Isaiah 55.11 — “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (ESV)
