And now, a minute with the Word…

What am I willing to do? John the Baptist was arrested and beheaded for rebuking unlawful marriage. Jesus gave His time and energy healing the great multitude instead of taking more alone time to grieve John’s death. Peter responded to Jesus’ call to come by literally stepping out of a boat in the middle of a deadly storm and walking on water. What am I willing to do? Would I rebuke unlawful marriage, even without any real chance of being arrested or killed for it? Would I give up my time and energy to help others, even when not convenient for me? Have I responded to Jesus’ invitation to come? Is my faith strong enough to do far less intimidating things than stepping out of a boat in the middle of a storm?
