Matthew 20
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Am I more concerned about the things that I deserve and about what I think is fair, or am I focused on working heartily for the Lord and being thankful that He has considered me faithful and put me into service? What if someone told the Jews that their Messiah, their great king from the tribe of Judah, the son of David, the promised savior from the seed of Abraham would come to Jerusalem only to be killed by the Gentiles? What if someone told them that they themselves would hand their great king over to the Gentiles, to be mocked and scourged and crucified? After telling His disciples about this tragic rejection and His upcoming death, they begin to fuss over which of them is the most important. Apparently the only people who were seeing Jesus clearly in this chapter were two blind men, who understood that Jesus was King, the son of David, the great Healer.
