1 Corinthians 3
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
If any could ever boast of their apostolic or evangelistic accomplishments, it would most certainly be Paul, but it is nowhere found in 1 Corinthians 3 nor elsewhere in his epistles. Instead he commends others for their contributions (verse 6), exalts “God who gives the increase” (verse 7), and magnifies “the grace of God which was given to [him]” (verse 10). In other words, he exemplifies the spirit taught by Jesus Himself, in Luke 17.10, “So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”
