1 Corinthians 6
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Christians are called to live differently toward the world (1 Corinthians 6.1-6), toward their brethren (verses 7-11), and toward God (verses 12-20) — but why? “You were washed” (1 Corinthians 6.11), cleansed from your past sins in the waters of baptism (Acts 22.16) and raised to “walk in newness of life” (Romans 6.4); and “you were sanctified” (1 Corinthians 6.11), separated from the old man who belonged to Satan and now set apart as God’s own (2 Corinthians 5.17; Ephesians 2.10); and “you were justified” (1 Corinthians 6.11), pardoned and declared not guilty in the court of God (Romans 3.21-26); all “in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Corinthians 6.11). “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!“ (2 Corinthians 9.15)
