And now, a minute with the Word…

“God shows no partiality,” that is, He is “no respecter of persons” (Acts 10.34; Romans 2.11). If we “have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” (Colossians 3.10), and if we would be “partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1.4), then “My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality . . . If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors” (James 2.1, 8-9).
