John 6
Series: 2023 Bible ReadingAnd now a minute with the word…
In verse 35, Jesus says “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” Bread symbolizes the most basic food or nourishment. It satisfies a basic and constant need. Well, Jesus points out here that He is the satisfaction of our spiritual needs, and our spiritual needs are far more important than our physical needs. The only time we are satisfied is when we are not hungry or thirsty. When we are hungry or thirsty then we are not satisfied to the point that we get up and do something about it. I can only be satisfied when Jesus is my bread. Nothing compares to the satisfaction that Jesus provides. Money, family, power, health, desires, nor anything else compares to Jesus as the bread of life.
