And now, a minute with the Word…

In Jesus’ sixth of seven “I am” statements, He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14.6). He is “the way” of salvation (Acts 4.12), access to (Romans 5.2) and reconciliation with Father (2 Corinthians 5.18). He is our Mediator (1 Timothy 2.5), Intercessor (Hebrews 7.25), and Advocate (1 John 2.1) with God. He is “the truth” spoken (John 8.31-32) and “the truth” embodied (John 1.1-3, 14, 17). He is “the life” (John 1.4) and came that we might have “life” (John 10.10; 11.25; 2 Timothy 1.10; 1 John 5.11b-12). Thomas á Kempis said it this way: “Without the Way, there is no going; without the Truth, there is no knowing; without the Life, there is no living . . . [Jesus is] the Way inviolable, the Truth infallible, the Life unending.”
