And now, a minute with the Word…

Jesus warned His apostles, “They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service” (John 16.2). Paul said, “I persecuted this Way [of Christ] to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women” (Acts 22.4), and “Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth” (26.9). We simply cannot rely upon our emotions or human intellect (ours or others’) to determine right and wrong. Rather, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Matthew 7.21).
