And now, a minute with the Word…

The four living creatures’ declaration, in Revelation 4.8, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come,” highlights three essential elements of God’s nature. First, He is perfect in holiness — not just holy, or even holier than someone or something else, but holiest of all and everything. Second, He is complete in power — all-mighty, able to accomplish anything and everything that is consistent with His all-holy character. Third, He is eternal — truly without beginning and without end, unbound by time and space. How humbling it is to consider this One to whom we can “come boldly” (Hebrews 4.14-16; cf. 10.19-25) through our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ!
