And now, a minute with the Word…

Revelation 21.4 — “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.” (CSB)

This is one of those chapters in the Bible that I struggle to read through. Not because it’s hard or unpleasant to read. I struggle to read it because of the imagery and thoughts that come to mind. We will dwell with God (v3) and there shall be no more pain, mourning, or death (v4). God will wipe away all tears. This world is a broken place and it’s that way because we — mankind — broke it by sinning. We chose to rebel against God and in so doing, separated ourselves from the Creator of the Universe who loves us dearly. He loves us so much that the He sent His only Son to die on the cross to redeem lost humanity from sin (John 3.16). I look forward to the day where me, my wife, my family members, and you don’t have to deal with the consequences of sin any longer.
