And now, a minute with the Word...

“But Moses said to the people, ‘Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and see the Lord’s salvation that he will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you must be quiet.’”

The source of the Israelite’s salvation was in Jehovah. God was going to save his people from their Egyptian bondage; in that moment, they needed to let God fight for them. Similarly, we too might become fearful of events happening around us. We might feel like Satan is closing in and there is no escape. God has already fought for us and accomplished salvation for us, through Jesus. And he continues to fight for us today. Just like the Israelite’s escape through the Red Sea, God provides a way of escape from temptation so that we can overcome sin, not be overcome by it. (1 Corinthians 10.13)
