Week 6, Day 2 — Exodus 16-18
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
After the Israelites had crossed the Red Sea and God destroyed the Egyptian army pursuing them, and He had provided manna for them in the wilderness, we read of yet another instance where they complain and question God’s goodness. How after multiple displays of God’s power and love for His people could they act this way? If we aren’t careful, we too can question God’s goodness after such an awesome display of His love for us. We might begin to wonder “Why am I living the Christian life?” After all, we might have been passed over for a promotion at work, people might think we are weird, etc. Let us always keep in mind that God sent His only son to die on the cross for our sins to redeem us. If we are faithful until the end, God has promised to come back and receive us to Himself and give us a crown of life (John 14.1-3, Revelation 2.10). Let us always remember His wonderful love and mercy for us (John 3.16).
