Week 7, Day 3 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
“When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, ‘Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt — we don’t know what has happened to him!’” (Exodus 32.1) When faced with uncertainty and doubt, the Israelites turned once again and looked back to their former way of life. They asked Aaron to make an idol for them that they could send out before them on their journey to the Promised Land, thinking that would lead them home. When we are faced with uncertainty and doubt, let us hold fast to God and what He has promised to us, and not look back to our former way of life. “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41.10)
