Week 9, Day 2 — Leviticus 16-18
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
The holiness prescribed for Israel was not just a matter of religious ritual (though certainly important), rather it was also a practical holiness — one which impacted every aspect of their lives. “You shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations . . . lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you” (Leviticus 18.26, 28). God yearned to bless His people, but His blessings were conditioned upon their utter deference to His will; and so it remains today — “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7.21).
