Week 9, Day 3 — Leviticus 19-20
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
When Jesus was asked about the first/foremost commandment (Mark 12.28-31), He answered, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…mind and…strength,” quoting from Deuteronomy 6; and He continued, “The second is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” quoting from Leviticus 19.18. The context of that commandment in Leviticus 19 is worth our greater attention, because it offers several practical ways we should love our neighbors — with our possessions (verses 9-10), with our honesty (verses 11-12), by our actions (verses 13-14), in our judgments (verses 15-16), and with our attitudes (verses 17-18).
